Newport Firefighters Local 45, affiliated with International Association of Firefighters (I.A.F.F.), is primarily a Labor Organization representing the members of the Newport Fire/EMS Department in Newport, Kentucky. Established in 1918, Local 45 was one of the first sixty-six locals of the now more than 3,100 I.A.F.F. affiliates across the U.S. and Canada. Today, in addition to business of being a labor organization, Local 45 continues to sponsor programs such as College Scholarship Awards, Youth Sporting Events, Holiday Family Assistance Program and Smoke Detector Installation/Maintenance Program. Many of these programs were developed and financed by Local 45 members who were inspired to give back to the community after interactions during emergency responses.

Newport Firefighters Local 45 Unveils New Logo
Local PR Firm EMG Creates Updated Look and Brand

Newport, KY — August 4, 2008 – The Newport Firefighters Local 45 Unveiled its new logo today, thanks to work by Greater Cincinnati public relations and marketing firm Eisen Management Group. The local 45 union is part of the International Association of Fire Fighters (I.A.F.F.), dedicated to protecting the rights and safety of its members. The organization is seeking exposure to their community assistance programs and is encouraging members and their families to participate and enhance these programs.

The new logo is part of many initiatives undertaken by EMG staffers, which also includes public relations and publicity efforts, online programming, graphic design, and public affairs. The logo was designed by EMG vice president Angela Deniston. According to EMG president Rodger Roeser, the updated logo showcases the commitment by the firefighters to the Newport community, but also to their fellow firefighters across the region and nation.

“The Newport Firefighters share a proud tradition of service to the community and the region, and the logo reflects their energy, passion and overall strength of conviction to making this community the very best,” Roeser said. “We were humbled and honored to have had the opportunity to be part of this endeavor.”

Newport Firefighters Local 45 Union Treasurer Mike Volz said, “We are truly thankful that EMG has taken the time to help us boost our community relations program and to help us solidify our brand and identity. Our programs have clearly made an impact on the community and would further benefit with increased exposure, and now we have a fresh beginning that points toward our future while paying tribute to our past.”
